We are seeking a Senior Attorney with strong litigation skills, preferably with at least 5 years of divorce and child custody litigation experience. Similar litigation experience in other areas of law may be considered for the right candidate.Do you want to help people have a better future after their divorce or child custody battle?
We are a business-minded divorce and child custody law firm that is on track for aggressive growth, and we need an experienced Senior Attorney to join our team and work directly with the owner and attorneys to support the team and help clients.
We want to be known for helping our divorce and child custody clients come out of an extremely emotional process feeling as though they are a better person, in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them.
We are growing fast, and we need a Senior Attorney who can hit the ground running.
This position will be responsible for important work, including:
- Attending Hearings
- Trial Litigation
- Representing Clients At Depositions
- Drafting Pleadings And Motions
- Settlement Negotiations/Mediation
- Steeped in the knowledge of Tennessee divorce and child custody law
- Well-versed in the Tennessee Rules of Procedure
- You understand that the clients are human and that they deserve competent, caring representation
- You can hit the ground running without a lot of direction; self-starter
- You maintain a level of politeness and respect when it comes to hostile parties/opposing counsel
- You are growth-oriented, and you believe that people should be financially rewarded for superior performance
The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding.
This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week.
There is an opportunity for bonus compensation for those who can demonstrate their profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to clients on matters related to the firm's practice areas
- Analyze legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, case law, statutes, financial documents, and other records to identify potential issues and provide solutions
- Draft and file legal pleadings, briefs, motions, and the like
- Draft Marital Dissolution Agreements and Permanent Parenting Plan Agreements
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee
- Graduated from an ABA-approved law school
- Minimum 5 - 8 years of litigation experience, divorce and family law a plus
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Detail-Oriented Skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Extensive understanding of divorce and child custody law, the Tennessee Rules of Evidence, the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, and other applicable law
