Responsibilities:
Interning in our Office of Legal Affairs will give you a hands-on learning experience to gain an understanding of Northwell as an organization and the role and functions of the Office of Legal Affairs with exposure to the healthcare, corporate, regulatory, labor and employment and real estate groups.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work or projects in multiple practice areas and gain exposure to a variety of assignments including reviewing, revising and drafting contracts, legal documents, policies, and procedures, performing legal research, analysis and more.

We’re seeking candidates who are currently enrolled in an accredited law school, actively working toward a Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Participates in the collection and preparation of data relative to the work of the department.
  • Assists in studies to objectively ascertain the efficiency, economy and effectiveness of department or Hospital operations, policies and procedures.
  • Assists management in facilitating new programs and/or procedures.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Student currently enrolled in law school pursuing a Juris Doctorate.
  • Prior administrative experience in a hospital setting, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
