Position Overview As the Assistant General Counsel you will provide professional legal advice, counsel, support and guidance on Invenergy’s international commercial transactions.
Provide legal support on a wide variety of commercial transactions, including acquisitions and sales of energy facilities, joint ventures and other joint development arrangements, engineering, procurement and construction contracts, power purchase agreements and other off-take and hedge agreements, interconnection agreements, supply agreements and operations and maintenance agreements.
The position will also provide legal advice and support in other areas of the company as needed and able.
The position will require overtime and travel at times.
JD degree or equivalent
Fluent business level Spanish, both verbal and written
3-5 years of experience either within a law firm or as in-house counsel
Able to work under minimal supervision
Experience with some of the following types of transactions, preferably in the energy industry:
Power purchase agreements; other power offtake and trading arrangements
M&A, other equity investments, joint ventures
Construction and procurement contracts
Long term service contracts (e.g. O&M agreements)
