We are a boutique law firm located in Uptown Oakland with a federal criminal defense practice primarily in the Northern District of California. We represent individuals and companies in all phases of the federal criminal process – internal investigations, grand jury, trial, and appeal – and in related civil proceedings. Our practice focuses on federal antitrust, securities fraud, wire and mail fraud, RICO, trade secrets, and computer crimes, both retained and court-appointed under the Criminal Justice Act. We’re looking for an Associate attorney with 4-8 years of experience who is eager to get into court, has excellent writing and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collegially. Our ideal candidate should be comfortable handling federal civil discovery, including electronically stored information, for larger white-collar cases and related civil proceedings. Familiarity with the federal criminal process is helpful but not required. We offer interesting cases, real courtroom experience, and a collaborative, flexible work environment.
Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent practical experience.
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in California.
4 years of experience as an attorney.
Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.
6 years of experience as an attorney.
Previous work experience in criminal defense.
Familiarity with federal court practice and procedures.
Experience with electronic discovery review software (Eclipse, Concordance, Relativity, etc.).
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects and meet deadlines, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
