The Seattle office seeks an attorney with substantial experience advising clients in labor and employment law. Relying on our broad and diverse experience, our attorneys tailor advice and representation to our clients in multiple industries, including retail, manufacturing, petroleum, financial services, hospitality, environmental, marine, technology, professional and engineering services. Our attorneys keep current on developing state and local laws and regulations. We seek candidates who have a willingness to take ownership for projects and cases, who possess an optimistic, team-oriented attitude, and who enjoy public speaking.
Advice: Successful candidate will be responsible for counseling HR managers and business executives on compliance, preparing effective policies, and providing strategic thinking in avoiding and resolving employment disputes.
Litigation: Successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the litigation and administrative charge work, including preparing position statements, evaluating claims, and handling mediation and arbitration.
Washington State Bar membership
Six years’ experience handling employment advice, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour claims
Experience handling complaints before the EEOC or state or local agencies
Management-side labor and employment counseling experience
Public speaking on labor and employment topics
Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
Ability to handle a variety of matters simultaneously to meet client demands
Excellent research, writing, communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of and experience with traditional labor law
In-house experience advising on labor and employment matters
Active practice with loyal clients
