Maryland Legal Aid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality legal advocacy to protect and advance human rights for individuals, families, and communities. Legal Aid provides free legal services to low-income Maryland residents in a wide array of civil legal matters including housing, health care, public benefits, consumer, and family law matters. The law clerk will assist with representing low-income individuals and will have direct client contact by assisting with intake and following a case to its conclusion. The law clerk will also assist with efforts to improve affordable housing options for low-income individuals, including reviewing plans of various local housing authorities and subsidized housing communities and monitoring community development efforts. The law clerk may also assist with updating lead paint manual and other research as needed.
