Job Summary The successful candidate will perform a variety of specialized tasks as assigned by supervisory attorney. Assists in all stages of case preparation and presentation. Responsible for researching, writing and investigating legal matters for briefs or arguments. This is a seasonal position of up to thirty-five (35) hours per week and for a duration of up to three (3) months.
Assists attorneys in trial preparation, legal research, client interview sessions, discovery conferences, investigation, witness preparation, drafting pre-trial and post-trial motions and motion hearings.
May act as witness/prover in court for attorney to validate statements given during investigations.
May take written statements from clients and/or witnesses.
Researches and prepares legal memoranda in preparation for legal briefs.
Other duties as assigned.
Must have completed at least four (4) law school courses and be currently pursuing a law degree at an accredited law school. You are required to upload a transcript with your online application.
Must be a current Cook County resident.
Must possess a current, valid driver's license.

Willingness to travel to different locations within the District and provide own means of transportation.
Ability to work 35 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.

Ability to initiate and follow through with projects under a tight deadline structure.
