Description:
Comstock is currently seeking a Legal Intern for our Headquarters in Reston. S/he will demonstrate the ability to assist with administration of the day-to-day operations of the Legal team. The internship is available May 2019! The compensation for this internship will be at a rate of $15 per hour, and ideally between 35-40 hours/week. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience with a growing company!

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day legal and administrative support to the Legal Department and the executive team on various legal transactions and projects
  • Assist in creating and editing legal documents, including abstracts
  • Research legal questions and draft memorandum
  • Draft and review legal correspondence and other documents
  • Develop, organize and maintain legal files, maintain logs of legal documents in both a paper and electronic filing/tracking system
  • Prepare and organize internal documents for financing arrangements
  • Support the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel in all legal functions
  • Maintain filing and tracking of corporate reports and records
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Completed or anticipated university degree in law, or related field
  • Prior industry internship/work experience is a plus
  • Versed in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Very strong professionalism
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to learn sector/project-specific software systems
  • Ability to follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with others
  • Must be highly credible and trustworthy, and operate with high degree of integrity
  • Must hold oneself and others accountable and strive for a high level of excellence
  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to fuel growth and innovation
  • Must be customer-focused and results-oriented
